Cindy & Chelsey are a mother and daughter team who have been working together for well over a decade. They began working together out of Cindys home based salon in Berwick, Maine back in 2009 and together they made the leap to purchase and create the new space for J. Everly in June of 2021.
The inspiration behind our name J. Everly derived from Cindy's mother Rita June who started her career in cosmetology at 42 years old, in 1962 when Cindy was just 2 years old. She not only inspired her, but two of her older daughters, two granddaughters and a great granddaughter to take part in this career, Chelsey is a third generation hairstylist in the family to follow in the path of both her grandmother and her mothers footsteps.
The 'J' is derived from Rita who encouraged it from the beginning and it ultimately stands for the past generations that molded by Cindy and Chelsey to be the stylists they are today.
'Everly' Is Chelsey's only daughter, and while she may not choose this career one day, her name represents the future generations to come into the business.
We incorporated 'Wellness' with hopes to encourage a healthy lifestyle and a chance to invest in yourself.
Lastly the design of our logo is enclosed within a circle, or figuratively the "Circle of life". Circles represent our own individual spiritual force that keeps us evolving through life and death, new beginnings or endings and is symbolic of wholeness and eternity. For us it's a new beginning of an ongoing journey with hopes of encouraging future leaders into the industry.
